Coordination Meeting on the Revision of the Ship Waste Reception and Control Regulation and the Maritime Waste Circular Hosted by Our Chamber

Our Chairman of the Board at Turkish Chamber of Shipping, Tamer Kıran, attended the Coordination Meeting on the Revision of the Regulation on the Reception of Waste from Ships and the Control of Waste and the Circular on the Implementation of Maritime Waste (DAU), hosted by our Chamber on Monday, March 2, 2026, with the participation of Fatih Turan, Director General of Environmental Management at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and his team.

The meeting, held in our Assembly Hall, was attended by Northern Marmara Group Commander of the Coast Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Ziya Can Gürsu; our Vice Chairman Recep Düzgit; chairpersons of the Fethiye, Kocaeli, and Marmaris Branch Boards; our members and representatives of member companies; officials responsible for the Ministry’s organization in Istanbul and surrounding provinces; and representatives of local port authorities in the region.

During the meeting, the ongoing revision of the Regulation on the Reception of Waste from Ships and the Control of Waste, in line with current needs and international regulations, was discussed.

In addition, planned updates to the Circular on the Implementation of Maritime Waste (DAU), to be aligned with the revised Regulation, were evaluated to ensure full compliance with the new provisions.
