Chairman of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, Tamer Kıran, and Assembly Member and ICS Vice Chairman, Metin Düzgit, attended the “Shaping the Future of Shipping Summit” organized by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

The Summit, hosted by the Union of Greek Shipowners in Athens, was attended by Greece’s Minister for Maritime Affairs and Island Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, ICS Chairman Emanuele Grimaldi, President of the Union of Greek Shipowners Melina Travlos, ministers from guest countries, representatives from the global maritime sector, and academics.

During the Summit, where Metin Düzgit also spoke as a panelist, key issues such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, digital transformation, energy transition, supply chain security, and human resource management were discussed within the framework of public-private sector cooperation.

As part of their engagements at the Summit, Tamer Kıran and Metin Düzgit held meetings with Malta’s Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett, ICS Chairman Emanuele Grimaldi, and FONASBA President Fulvio Carlini.
