Tamer Kıran Met with D-8 Secretary-General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood in Ankara
Our Chairman of the Board at Turkish Chamber of Shipping and Vice Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Tamer Kıran, met with D-8 Secretary-General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood in Ankara on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The meeting, held at TOBB Twin Towers, was also attended by D-8 Director-I responsible for Administrative, Legal, and Internal Affairs and D-8 CCI, Ambassador Mustafa Özcan, and Third Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate General for International Economic Policies and Organizations, Halil İbrahim Uçar.
During the meeting, discussions focused on increasing trade and investment volume among D-8 member countries, strengthening cooperation between private sectors, and making mechanisms for the business community within D-8 more effective.
In addition, ongoing work under the D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) mechanism and potential joint projects to be undertaken in the upcoming period were evaluated.
