The Notice of the Kocaeli  Harbour Master informs that due to the İzmit Bay Bridge construction works, proceeding  speed should be reduced to 5 knots for all vessel  in vicinity of the following described areas in relevant date  during to work progress from 20 January   untill 24 January 2016 ;

Date between 20-21st of January  2016 hours 08:00 to 15:00 LT

Restricted Areas ( speed will not exceed to 5 knots)  as follow;

Longitudes      29⁰ 30'  E    to    29⁰ 32'  E               

 Date between 22-23st of January  2016 hours 08:00 to 15:00 LT

Longitudes      29⁰ 30'  E    to    29⁰ 32'  E     (same as above)           

24th of January  2016

Existing  fairway  will be narrowed to 400 mtrs in the following areas by shifting the buoys locations; Fairway buoys locations will be,

Northerly Buoys

Red Buoy 1: 40⁰ 45' 11.8336''N   -    029⁰ 30' 25.0038'' E    

Red Buoy 2: 40⁰ 45' 06.1614''N   -    029⁰ 31' 25.0680'' E      

 Southerly Buoys    

Green Buoy 1: 40⁰ 44' 58.9729''N   -    029⁰ 30' 22.8244'' E    

Green Buoy 1: 40⁰ 44' 53.2936''N   -    029⁰ 31' 22.9652'' E    

• Other than time schedule described above all vessel should navigate in the area with speed  not  to exceed  of 10 knots.
• Traffic will be conduct in the buoyed fairway for the Pilot on board vessels  (500 GT or greater foreign flagged vessels and 1000 GT or greater Turkish flagged vessels) on single direction, for other vessels in a controlled manner on two-way.

All the vessels sailing in the vicinity should maintain continuously VHF Watch on Channel 16 and 12 . The notification of closures will be at short notice and all the vessels and sea crafts sailing in the local traffic should observe the warnings and cautions to be issued by the Vessel Traffic Center and Stations concerned in order not to endanger the sailing of sea crafts in the region and the safety of life, goods and environment.
